Since its opening in 1968 until today, Chung-Ang University Hospital has been striving to contribute to health promotion and happy lives by realizing the best treatment, research, and education. With its continuous improvement of medical services for patient safety and medical quality, it has a obtained medical institution evaluation certification from the Ministry of Health and Welfare three times in a row, and has been certified as a tertiary hospital that specializes in high-level medical practices for severe diseases four times in a row.

In particular, the Cancer Center, which has established an innovative system for cancer treatment, implemented the One-Stop Fast Tack Service, realizing a treatment paradigm that allows cancer patients to receive treatment more quickly. It obtained first grade in all cancer evaluations (colon cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, and is recognized for its advanced medical care in cancer treatment. In addition, it obtained first grade in treatment adequacy evaluations for acute stroke, coronary artery bypass surgery, intensive care units (adults and newborns), and hemodialysis, and its excellent medical staff and specialized personnel are leading the treatment of severe diseases.

In the research sector, the first certification was obtained from the Institutional Bioethics Committee (IRB) evaluation in 2021, which was conducted for the first time by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Bioethics Policy Institute. Having acquired the medical device clinical trial institution certification (ISO14155), we are striving for the harmonious development of treatment and research with an optimal research environment in which scientific and ethical clinical trials can be conducted according to international standards.

Chung-Ang University Hospital has done well in the ‘World’s Best Hospitals’ rankings selected by Newsweek, a US weekly news magazine, for four consecutive years, and has shown continuous growth, entering the domestic TOP 10 in 2022.

In 2017, in the medical service patient experience evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, Chung-Ang University Hospital achieved first place among 92 large hospitals, including tertiary general hospitals, in the nation. It also ranked 1st among 13 major tertiary hospitals in the Seoul Metropolitan Area in a visitor review evaluation conducted on the country‘s largest portal site, and it is maintaining its reputation as the kindest hospital in Korea and a hospital that patients trust.
